Orchestral Intensive Course

The Orchestral Intesnsive Course option is open to attendees 18 and over who are looking to develop their skill set and gain practical advice to become professional orchestral musicians. Attendees should be either about to begin, or currently studying at a music conservatoire, recently graduated or of an equivalent level.

On this course we will be covering an in depth study of the orchestral repertoire with classes on flute and piccolo excerpts, ensemble playing, Mozart concertos, audition preparation, CV building and more. You will have the opportunity to learn from all the members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra flute section and gain perspective from their different positions.

Due to the focussed nature of this course there are limited spaces available. Register early so as not to miss out!

Arrival time and registration will take place between 2pm-3pm on Tuesday 26th August 2025. The course will finish on Thursday 28th August 2025 by 6pm

LFA Orchestral Audition Competition

The attendees of this course will automatically be entered into the Liverpool Flute Academy Orchestral Audition Award which will give students an insight to the professional audition process. Candidates will be given a choice of pathways for the audition for which there will be a screened first round and an open final round. This final round will be treated just like a real audition process with panel interaction, but will be open to spectators as a chance to also learn from the event. Audition lists will be sent to candidates ahead of the course.
