Overview

Liverpool Flute Academy offers opportunities for flute players to study, perform, socialise and be inspired. We are running two parallel courses:

“Versatile Performer Course” and “Orchestral Intensive Course” on Monday 5th August - Friday 9th August 2024 at the wonderful CHET centre in Little Crosby, Liverpool. Our courses are led by Cormac Henry, Helen Wilson and Sameeta Gahir, who work together as the flute section of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Running alongside our academy programmes we have the Liverpool International Flute Competition. The competition is open to advanced flautists above the age of 16 and will culminate in a public final round. The competition is open to attendees and non-attendees of the courses to enter. Throughout our courses, concerts and competition we wish to inspire attendees to embrace a rich variety of repertoire including works by composers of diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
